Scott Murphy graduated from Rochester Insitute of Technology (RIT) with a Bachelor of Science in Small Business Management.  Scott has been appraising real estate for over 24 years and has personally appraised over 15,000 homes.  In 1993, he earned his SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute 0 the most prestigious designation in residential appraising - earned by less than 1% of appraisers.  In 1996 he established D. S. Murphy & Associates and has grown the firm to be Atlanta's largest residential appraisal firm, with 31 residential staff associates and 2 commercial associates - serving 22 county metro Atlanta market.  Scott Murphy has been an active member of the Georgia Real Estate Fraud Prevention and Awareness Coalition, the Atlanta Chapter of the Appraisal Institute and the Northeast Metro Atlanta Association of Realtors.  Scott has been teaching appraisal and real estate related classes throughout the country for the past 20 years.

In 2004, Mr Murphy was appointed by Gov. Perdue to the Georgia Real Estate Appraisers Board where he is actively working to inprove the laws and more closely regulate appraiers in Georgia. 

Alan is a graduate of the University of Georgia and has been appraising real estate for over 17 years.  He is experienced in multi-million dollar properties, investment properties, employee relocation and REO properties.  Alan has appraised homes all over metro Atlanta and specializes in large acreage tracts.  As a senior instructor with D S Murphy, he presents CE classes as well as real estate investment classes with John Adams at Emory.

David has been appraising property for over 45 years.  His years of experience bring exciting discussion to the class.  He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology.  He joined D S Murphy and Associates in 2007 after relocating from Kitty Hawk, NC.  He was one of the founding partners of Rynne, Murphy & Associates in Rochester, NY, a real estate appraising and consulting firm.  He also founded Murphy Appraisal Service in Kitty Hawk, NC.  Prior to that he spent 18 years with Eastman Kodak Company where he held several real estate positions.

David resides in Monroe, NC, a suburb of Charlotte and covers Union & Mecklenburg counties.  In addition David is also licensed in South Carolina and Georgia.  He is experienced in all apsects of residential appraising including multi-million dollar properties, investment properties, multi-family properties, relocation properties and is on the FHA panel.  David has many years of teaching experience including classroom and lectures.  He also has a broker license and is a member of the National Association of Realtors and North Carolina Association of Realtors.

Mark is a graduate of the University of Georgia and has been appraising real estate for over 17 years.  He is experienced in multi-million dollar properties, investment properties, employee relocation and REO properties.  Mark has appraised homes large and small including 400 sf units to over 15,000 sf mansions.  As a senior instructor with D.S. Murphy, he presents CE classes as well as real estate investment classes with John Adams at Emory.
